“Yes, the Lord Has Done
Amazing Things for Us! What Joy!”
Psalm 126:3 (NLT)
On Sunday October 5, 2003 we officially launched our Everyday People Faithful Every Day Building Fund Campaign. And you responded by stepping out in faith with generous and sacrificial pledges and gifts to our building campaign.
When we began our building project ten months later in August 2004, we again stepped out in faith believing that it was time to begin building, even though we did not have the total pledges or funds on hand to complete construction. Just like Nehemiah and the Israelites, we began our project with the profession of faith that, “The God of heaven Himself will prosper us; therefore we His servants will arise and build” Nehemiah 2:20 (NKJV).
And God has been faithful! From the beginning of October 2003 until last week, we have raised $586,266! Combined with the $61,572 that we had on hand at the beginning of October 2003 we have received at total of $647,838 in funds for our new building! Psalm 126 tells us that, “When the Lord restored his exiles to Jerusalem it was like a dream! We were filled with laughter, and we sang for joy. And the other nations said, ‘What amazing things the Lord has done for them.’”
The story of our building campaign in itself is a witness and a testimony to those around us. Yes, many are amazed and encouraged by our faith and obedience and by the faithfulness of our God.
Today, as we celebrate 103 years of God’s faithfulness and blessings, we are also setting aside this time to dedicate both ourselves and our new facility, to the glory of God and to the work of His kingdom and ourselves.
While we have reached a tremendous milestone, we still have a great and challenging journey ahead. Our Building Committee estimates that we will need approximately $77,000 more to complete the payments on the construction of our new facility.
We may not know just how or through whom God will provide, but we know that he will. Thank you for stepping out in faith and obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ. We are not only building a building but we are building a church through which He is being lifted up and glorified.
By His Grace,
Bro. Bruce
