Tis the season to think
green ! While you are making plans for your holiday, take time to plan for the proper disposal of your live tree and those old electronic items being replaced with new holiday gifts !  There is no charge with the exception of a $5.00 fee for old TVs, due to their hazardous waste content.

"Rivers Alive"  Clean-Up

 

ATT Telecom Pioneers and Keep Dublin-Laurens Beautiful, Inc. are sponsoring the 2007River’s Alive Event  Saturday, Oct 6th, 8:30 am - noon We will meet at the Dublin-Laurens Sr. Center to get assignments, receive bags, gloves, litter pickers

t shirts  and enjoy coffee and donuts. Groups will then depart to clean the area of their choice and count bags before disposing of them at a Laurens County Collection Center. A wonderful outdoor  lunch will be held at the Wild Life Management area off of Hwy 119 where we will get an official count of bags and take photos. Other groups will be participating Saturday October 13th. You may register a group for individual clean ups any date during October 2007!

NOVEMBER 17
"Fall into Recycling Day"
10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Keep Dublin-Laurens Beautiful and the Market on Madison will present "Fall into Recycling Day" in celebration of National America Recycles Day !  This fun and free event will be held at the Market on Madison located on West Madison street in downtown Dublin.  Anyone may bring one or more recyclables to the Keep Dublin-Laurens Beautiful collection bins during this one-day event and receive a free nursery plant while they last !

ONLY the following items will be accepted for recycling during this event :
Plastic beverage bottles / clear PET (no milk jugs), newspapers, magazines, phone books, junk mail, white copier paper, aluminum cans (clean and rinsed), and flattened corrugated cardboard.  The event will also offer informational booths and demonstrations by representatives from many agencies featuring a recycling message. 
Free coloring books to all children while they last!  

JOIN US AS WE REMIND OUR COMMUNITY THAT RECYCLING BEGINS WITH YOU !!
