Dublin and Laurens County are fortunate to have many locations where materials are accepted for recycling.  Please email us if you know of additional sites and we'll add them here.  If you would like to recycle something that is not shown here, please give Patsy a call at 272-5162, or Laurens County Solid Waste Management Authority at 676-3963.

Manned Recycling / Convenience Centers are located throughout Laurens County.  The center hours are clearly posted at each center.  All are closed on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Curbside Single-Stream Recycling :  The City of Dublin has begun  a residential customer single stream curbside recycling program. Recyclables are picked up every other Friday and the service is free of charge.  You don’t even have to separate the recyclable items!

Batteries
Auto batteries are collected by most Retail Stores in exchange when you purchase a new battery.  Ask where you purchase household batteries if they have a collection program.

Christmas Trees
Each year after Christmas, KDLB, along with state and local sponsors, collects Christmas trees which are ground  into mulch for city and county parks.  Watch for announcements concerning dates and locations.
 
Clothing and Clean Rags
The Salvation Army, 1617 Telfair Street at the corner of Kellam road, or deposit in collection boxes at Parker Dairy Road. Call 272-2869 for pickup of large items, such as furniture.
Goodwill Industries:  Look for collection boxes around the county.  One is located at Kroger, another at the K-Mart parking lot.
Corrugated Containerboard
Residential quantities of corrugated containers may be taken to Laurens County Collection Centers (click for locations).  
Commercial quantities may be recycled by calling the Laurens County Solid Waste Management Authority at 676-3963.

MR Service Center Locations

Collection boxes are located in convenient locations throughout Laurens County.  in addition to the Collection Center locations they have boxes at the rear of 1st United Methodist Church under the portico and the downtown Post Office . The ONP from these and the collection centers goes to the Center for Developmentally Disabled Citizens of Laurens County.  Call the MR Service Center at 275-5130 for the location nearest you.

Dudley Community Center
Plastic Containers
The "Green Team" is collecting No. 1 and No. 2 plastic containers for recycling through the schools in Dublin and Laurens county.  Call Patsy for details.

Accepted at most Grocery and Discount stores, Wal-Mart, Kroger or Winn Dixie, for example.

Telephone Books

Waste Grease
Griffin Industries recycles offal, bone, and fat at it's rendering plant located at 508 E. Highway 80, East Dublin. Call 272-7340.
Yard Waste
City of Dublin - collects yard waste and converts it into mulch which is available to the public in unlimited quantities at no charge.  Loading is free every other Saturday.  Call 277-5040 for more details.
Composting - The use of yard waste in composing is recommended by the UGA Extension Service.  Give them a call at 272-2277 for information.

Many area schools also have active recycling programs.  Ask at the school office.
