The Veterans Memorial
Laurens County has produced more than its share of military heroes over the years. While it is impossible to name them all, here are three examples from World War II:
The memorial will honor these brave individuals, as well as all area veterans who served our country in times of need. The Veterans Memorial will feature displays from wars Americans have fought, such as the French & Indian Wars ! American Revolution ! War of 1812 ! Indian Wars ! Mexican War ! War Between the States ! Spanish-American War ! World War I ! World War II ! Korean War ! Vietnam War ! Gulf War and Other Conflicts. In addition to honoring those who served in wartime, everyone will have the opportunity to recognize a friend or family member in the Book of Honor. A page in the book may be purchased to give special recognition to anyone who served in our armed forces during war or peace.
We welcome any information you send us on specific veterans e.g., name, rank, conflict or war, other service information, where from, family information, etc. All information about the veteran will be included in the memorial whether you make a donation or not. But with a $40.00 contribution the veteran will be included in the Book of Honor and a memorial brick purchased for the veteran. With a $25.00 contribution the veteran will be included in the Book of Honor. Please include your name and address or telephone number in case we need to contact you about additional information about the veteran. Mail to:
